A consortium of Dutch technology companies – DEMCON, Thorizon, and VDL Group – signed a project agreement last December. Their shared mission: to achieve a breakthrough in the development of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), specifically molten salt reactors. These innovative nuclear reactors promise a safe, scalable, and sustainable contribution to the energy transition.

PAMI-1 is the first in a series of satellites to strengthen Dutch space capabilities FSO Instruments and partners will develop, build and launch a satellite for the Netherlands’ Armed Forces to be launched in 2027. The satellite, PAMI-1, will support intelligence gathering for the Netherlands by offering a sovereign capability to monitor earth from space. PAMI-1 will also demonstrate laser satellite communication technology that provides fast and secure transfer of information, back to a ground station as well as to other satellites.

Demcon Delft supports Project MARCH, a group of students working on the development and improvement of an exoskeleton for people with paraplegia. We support the team with financial support, engineering support and workshops.

We are proud to be part of the Netherlands Academy of Engineering (NAE) — a dynamic network that brings together top experts in technological sciences, applied research, and innovation from both academia and industry. Our CEO, Dennis Schipper, is a Fellow within this esteemed community.

Led by researchers from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, companies (including Demcon), partners and students have jointly designed an innovative electrolysis system. This system for decentralized hydrogen production uses wind and solar energy to produce hydrogen locally. The hydrogen is subsequently stored and converted to energy when needed. This innovative design, stemming from the HYGENESYS research project, helps combat grid congestion and provides a more stable sustainable energy supply.

Demcon continues to expand the activities in the field of the circular economy and sustainable process technology. Over two years ago, Suster, a spin-off from the University of Twente in the field of chemistry and process technology, became part of the Demcon group. As part of Demcon, was Suster able to grow further with research and process development for greening the process industry.
